The 5th Avenue Theatre Raises Over Million At Annual Auction and Gala

The 5th Avenue Theatre is thrilled to announce the resounding success of its highly anticipated Spotlight SoiréeAuctioneer Matt Lorch. Photo by Heather Curbow Annual Gala and Auction, which took place on May 3, 2024 and raised $1,014,880 and celebrated the arts with an air of elegance and excitement. Hosted by mother-daughter duo Patti Payne and Lee Keller, the event brought together approximately 280 patrons, artists, and community leaders for an unforgettable evening of glamor and philanthropy. Guests were treated to a night of spectacular performances, gourmet dining, and inspiring speeches, all in support of the theater’s mission to enrich the cultural landscape of the Pacific Northwest. 


“We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of support and enthusiasm from our patrons and supporters,” said Bill Berry, Executive Director of The 5th Avenue Theatre. “The success of this year’s gala is a testament to the enduring power of the arts to inspire, uplift, and unite us. We are deeply grateful to everyone who helped make this event a success and who continues to champion The 5th Avenue Theatre’s mission.”


The Gala showcased a range of Broadway classics and contemporary favorite songs, with stunning musical performances by Ethan Carpenter (Disney’s The Little Mermaid), Harter Clingman (National Tour of Come From Away), Cassi Q Kohl (Disney’s The Little Mermaid), Cayman Ilika (White Christmas), Trina Mills (Into the Woods), Jason Weitkamp (Something’s Afoot), and Madison Willis (Disney’s The Little Mermaid). A surprise performance from The 5th Avenue Theatre’s upcoming production of Spring Awakening left attendees spellbound, reaffirming the theater’s status as a premier destination for world-class entertainment. The Dusty 45s closed the evening out with a rousing performance of “Time Warp” from Rocky Horror Picture Show, followed by a full set of powerful and energetic Americana tunes.

Notable guests in attendance included local dignitaries, business leaders, and esteemed members of the arts community, all united in their passion for supporting the arts and ensuring the vitality of live theater in Seattle. Their generosity and commitment to The 5th Avenue Theatre was on full display throughout the evening with fundraising efforts that will provide essential support for the theater’s programming, education initiatives, and community outreach efforts. 


“The Spotlight Soirée serves as a poignant reminder of the transformative impact of live theater,” said Berry. “As we look ahead to future seasons, we do so with renewed optimism and a deep sense of gratitude for the unwavering support of our dedicated patrons and the vibrant arts community of Seattle.”
